Library account

Rules for using a library account

You can log in to your library account in AGH University Libraries online catalogue.

Login (depending on user category): 

  • student/doctoral student ID number (digits below barcode),
  • library card number (digits below barcode),

Password:

  • PESEL number is your default password (if you do not have a PESEL number use your ID or passport number - remember which document you showed when enrolling to the Library),
  • you can change your password by logging in to AGH University Libraries online catalogue. Select "My account", then "Contact".

If you forgot your password:

  • click on the link Forgot your password?
  • enter your library card number or student/doctoral student ID number and enter email address assigned to your library account,
  • check your email as you will receive a temporary password,
  • use this temporary password to log in to your library account,
  • once you have logged in, change your password.

After logging in to the AGH University Libraries online catalogue, you can check the following information in the tab "My account":

  • in the tab "Requests" - current list of orders and their statuses,
  • in the tab "Checked-out" - list of currently borrowed books, here you can renew return dates,
  • in the tab "Account" - any unpaid fees,
  • in the tab "History" - your borrowing history one year back,
  • in the tab "Contact" - here you can check your personal data and change your email and/or password.

Check your loan and renewal limits.

The library account is valid for a certain period of time for each user category. Check the expiration date and renewal policy for your library account.

Your library account will be locked in the following circumstances:

  • you have overdue books on your account,
  • you have unpaid fees,
  • your account validity has expired,
  • you are dismissed from the student roster,
  • your work contract has expired.

Locking your library account prevents you from ordering and borrowing books, renewing the return dates and using e-resources.

To unlock your account, return the overdue books and pay the fees. Check the price list.

Failure to receive an e-mail reminder does not mean cancellation of the late return fee. In accordance with the Regulations, you are obliged to check the balance of your library account after each activity.

You can pay for overdue books and library services (e.g., computer printouts) at the Cashier's Office which is located in the Library hall (opening hours: Mon.-Fri. 8am-6pm). From Mon.-Fri. from 6pm to 7:45pm and on Saturdays, payments are accepted at the Circulation Desk in the Library hall.
You can pay by credit card, BLIK or cash on site.
 
You can also pay by bank transfer.
Send an email to udo@bg.agh.edu.pl to find out how much you have to pay. Fees for overdue books can be paid only after they are returned. If you have not returned the books, the fee increases each day by 0.20 PLN for each book until it is returned.

Bank account number: 96 1240 4722 1111 0000 4858 2922 (AGH University of Krakow).
Payment reference: AGH University Main Library - for overdue books - name and surname.
If you pay by bank transfer, send the confirmation of payment to oplaty@bg.agh.edu.pl. You will receive an email confirmation that the fee has been removed from your library account.

You can also return books by post, the address:
A. Mickiewicz Ave. 30, 30-059 Kraków, U-1 building, AGH University Main Library, Circulation Desk.
Please attach information about your name and surname, ID/library card number. Prepare the package carefully so that it is not damaged during transport.
