Current principles of using services at the Main Library

Due to the dynamic nature of the epidemic situation, certain rules such as reading room openings may change. We ask for your understanding and to follow the announcements on our homepage. We will try to provide you with the best possible service, despite the necessary restrictions.
 
Circulation Desk (ground floor) is open daily, Monday through Thursday from 8.00 a.m. to 7.45 p.m., on Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., and on Saturday from 8.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.

Open Stacks Area - is open every day, during the opening hours of the Circulation Desk,  textbooks or items from the "W" book collection can be borrowed on the spot, due to the open nature of the collection (individual borrowing in real-time) it will no longer be possible to order items marked "W" through the computer catalog.
 
Items from  Fiction Library can be browsed and borrowed directly in the Open Stacks Area. Fiction can also be ordered by phone: 12 617 34 02 or e-mail: udo[at]bg.agh.edu[dot]pl (collection available only for AGH employees). After logging in to the library account, electronic orders are only possible for the items with the "BB-Magazyn" location.

Self-Study Reading Room (ground floor) is open from Monday to Friday from 7.30 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. On Saturdays and on days when the Library is open until 3 p.m., the Self-Study Reading Room is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
 
Main Reading Room (1st floor) is open from Monday to Thursday, 8.00 a.m. to 7.45 p.m., on Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., and on Saturday from 8.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.

Reference Department Reading Room (1st floor) is open from Monday to Thursday, 8.00 a.m. to 7.45 p.m., on Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., and on Saturday from 8.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. Here you can use scientific databases, e-books, e-journals, and library materials available only in the reading rooms such as encyclopedias, and reference books.
 
Special Collections Department Reading Room (2nd floor) is open Mon. - Sat., from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. where one can use patent databases, standards, cartographic documents, and doctoral theses. To order a printout of excerpts of the standards, please use the form. Please note that printouts of excerpts of standards are made only for teaching or research purposes for AGH employees, doctoral students, and students. Orders for other library materials should be submitted via a form or sent to the address: ozs[at]bg.agh[dot]edu.
 
Interlibrary Loans is open Monday to Friday, 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Requests for scans of fragments of library materials, e.g. articles from printed journals and fragments of other publications from the collection of the Main Library should be submitted using the form or by writing to: wypmb[at]bg.agh.edu[dot]pl. A scan will be sent to the reader's e-mail address. Interlibrary loan requests can be made in the same way.
 
Books should be ordered by logging in to your library account and choosing the place where they can be collected  BG-WYPOZYCZALNIA; ordered items will be available for collection for 10 days.
 
Please return books through the library book drop, located in front of the entrance to the Library building. Books that do not fit through the book drop box, due to their size, should be left in a special container placed by the Library's reception desk or returned directly to the Circulation Desk.
 
During the opening hours of the Circulation Desk, it is possible to confirm the cancellation of the account (the so-called clearance slip).  In this case, please return the books directly to the Circulation desk. Similarly, if you want to pay your library fines at once.

Fees for keeping books and for library services (e.g. computer printouts) should be paid in the Cashier's Office in the Library's hall, open from Monday to Friday, 8.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m. Attention: Mon. - Fri. from 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. and on Saturdays payments are accepted at the Circulation Desk. Payments for the returned books can also be made by bank transfer. See the details.

A library account can be created on-site at the  Circulation Desk (Monday through Thursday from 8.00 a.m. to 7.45 p.m., on Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., on Saturday from 8.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.), however, we recommend using the online forms to register with the Library. You can also renew your account remotely or update your library account details, for this please email us at: udo[at]bg.agh.edu[dot]pl.
